HOUSING WATCHES: 7 ALTERNATIVES TO JUNGHANS & NOMOS

Really? Another article about Bauhaus watches? - Many watch enthusiasts simply can not hear the talk of "minimalist design" anymore. And that is absolutely understandable. The subject has simply made too many watch manufacturers and Microbrands own - and almost ridden dead media. And then the Bauhaus celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2019. But somehow watch enthusiasts do not get into party mood. At least that's my impression. And that's no wonder. If Bauhaus is already omnipresent in the watch world, how do you want to increase it?

Bauhaus watch? - Junghans ... Nomos ... Junghans ... Nomos - that's the mantra
And of course the Bauhaus top dogs take the opportunity to release one or another anniversary edition for the anniversary:

Of course, relevant media and journalists love to write about these anniversary editions - and about fake watches Franck Muller Bauhaus. And always with the focus on what is proven, most obvious, most mainstream: Junghans feat. Max Bill and Nomos - as the "only true".

The whole thing has been repeated for years so often that the average person now thinks he knows what to look for in terms of Bauhaus and watch brands (Nomos and Junghans) and what to despise (everything else). This is called PR and "occupy a topic". Trade magazines like to play along - they also preach the same brands with great fondness: Junghans ... Nomos ... Junghans ... Nomos ... that's the mantra. Occasionally interrupted by a Stowa. After all. - Other brands? They are almost non-existent.

There are alternatives. Really.
That's too one-sided for me personally. I can understand that many a man gets a neck when the fashion watch brand Daniel Wellington is mentioned in this context. But between the two extremes Daniel Wellington (cheap, million-selling minimalism fashion watch) and Nomos (minimalist luxury watch with a design that is not quite as "original" as some people think) there is still something more to discover.

And there are some interesting brands that are wrongly ignored. Even well-known from orologi replica Germany. And that's exactly what this article is about. A few alternatives and tips - beyond the Junghans-Nomos-Junghans-Nomos-Mantras.

And please do not misunderstand me. I appreciate the watches of Junghans and Nomos. The two watch brands have done a lot right in the past and deserve their reputation and success. Not without reason Junghans comes here again and again as a recommendation (Nomos sometimes). What I do not appreciate so much is that some "watch experts" and supposed connoisseurs pretend that there is nothing else.

Especially in the case of the Nomos classic Tangente (see above), some of these watch connoisseurs should rather "flatten" the ball and not better label these watches as the "original" and "only true" ones.
