I typically associate watches with grand complications such as those that have a number of complications in a watch such as a minute repeater, a chronograph, and a perpetual calendar. The Complication Ultra-Thin Grande Harmony Chronograph features the time, power reserve indicator, automatic winding and a split-seconds chronograph. The assortment of these features is impressive and satisfying, but hardly "grand" compared to the amount of features that other brands and Vacheron Constantin have been able to come up with in one movement. OK, a few naming issues aside, let me explain how this is one of the most impressive new timepieces unveiled at SIHH (and certainly priced accordingly).

I appreciate that Vacheron Constantin resisted the temptation to describe the ultra-thin Thinheron Constantin Harmony chronograph with too many superlatives. This means that the company knows that only the most dedicated and experienced collectors will be able to approach and appreciate the merits of this ultra-invisible wealth model without Vacheron Constantin having to enhance their image with marketing materials. That said, only 10 pieces of the watch (in platinum) will be produced for 2015. However, I expect that in the future we will see more executions of Vacheron Constantin Harmony Ultra-Thin Grande Complication Chronograph in replica watches other materials.

The cushion-shaped Harmony case for this model is 42mm wide and 8.4mm thick. Given the level of complexity, this makes the watch "ultra-thin". The movement is the homemade one and the brand new Vacheron Constantin Caliber 3500, which is really something beautiful. The first thing you will notice is the ultra high-end quality of the finish throughout the movement of the Vacheron Constantin Harmony Ultra-Thin Grande Grande Complication Chronograph.
